Product Description No more creaking, squeaking exercise wheel. Give your small pet a workout with the Silent Spinner. Patented ball-bearing technology makes this exercise wheel as quiet as can be. Use it as a free-standing wheel, or attach it easily to any wire cage. The enclosed design of the plastic running surface is safe for your pet's feet and tail.

Quiet but still has flaws October 1, 2008 I purchased the silent spinner (7inch diameter) for my hamster. I have woken up twice already to find that the wheel came off the axle and toppled over. I made sure i screwed on the yellow knob tightly after the first incident but it happened again and this time it trapped my hamster inside the wheel when it fell over. I don't even want to think about how long my hamster was trapped in that cramped little space. I'm not sure if i can glue the knob down but i will have to make sure the knob is tightened every night.
Silent and safe. But doesn't last long February 13, 2008 The quietest wheel we've had. And safe -- no place for little feet or gerbil tails to get stuck. But, we've had two of these and had to replace both within a couple of months because the axle broke.
The BEST wheel for rats September 18, 2007 I breed and show fancy rats as a hobby and of all the wheels I've tried, this one's my favorite. Lady rats are often very active and will work to 'keep their figures' by running on a wheel regularly. Males are big cuddly slugs and will likely ignore it. Wheels have to be selected carefully though because their long tails are easily injured by the 'normal' rodent wheels at most pet stores -- this brand was designed with this in mind. I have over 35 ratties, mostly girls, and though most of my cages have Wodent Wheels (since they're cheaper) my absolute favorite is the Silent Spinner. It attaches to the side of the cage easily, is EASY to clean, the rats don't chew it (it's really hard), it lasts dang near forever and really is close to being silent (it bumps now and then, but is quieter than others). If you can afford the few extra bucks, this one's the best on the market. [...]
cheap plastic May 5, 2007 I've bought 2 of these wheels for my chinchillas. The stand that comes with it is not sturdy enough to support the running weight of a chin or guinea pig - when they get going the wheel falls over scaring them half to death. You can also fasten the wheel to the side of the cage, but I found it hard to tighten the nut enough to keep the wheel from wobbling. AND - both times - the chinchillas were able to chew off the interior fastener and break the wheel within 2 weeks. I ended up getting them a metal wheel which has lasted over a year now.
Quiet Spinner mostly February 17, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The rats we own LOVE to run in a wheel. But because they are nocturnal, they run at night when we are TRYING to sleep. The wire wheel we owned made a ton of racket. So we wanted to get something quiet. This wheel is a good size for our Jumbo Rat and it is very quiet when the wheel turns. We have our rats in a glass cage, and that's where this wheel doesn't get 5 stars. When the rat really gets it rockin, the stand that supports the wheel hits the glass bottom and knocks a bit. That's fixed with some sticky sided felt adhered to the bottom of the base support. Additionally, the back has a mechanism to attatch it to the side of a wire cage for added stability. Because our cage is glass, we had to add two suction cups and a piece of wire strung between them to get that added support. Without this support, the wheel is top heavy and tumps over in the middle of the night and you get an unhappy rat. It's working QUITE well after those modifications, though and we couldn't be happier.
