4 out of 5 stars Good product   June 18, 2008
I got this cage for my Conure and it is fine, not great like my CA cage but at 1/3 the price it is a good value. I wouldn't trust it for a large bird though it isn't very strong.

4 out of 5 stars Great product, arrived a little damaged   March 5, 2008

My bird and I love this cage. It is well constructed and a real steal for the price you pay. Mine came a little damaged. A few things were bent and the tray had a some chip out of it but it was minor and I loved it so much I fixed it and kept it.

5 out of 5 stars best buy! great, except for the 'poop' factor...   November 30, 2007
After reading the review by J. Beardsley, who seems to have the same "skeptical cheapskate" qualities as myself, I decided to get this for my red headed green cheeked amazon. And while she is still grumbling about the change from her previous small cage, I want to say a couple of things about this product.
If you have priced cages in a pet store and are as cheap as I am as i am, you have decided to pass them up.
This is as good as anything I have seen in a pet store for $300 or more, and is only $99.99 as of this writing.
There are only eight screws involved to attach the legs. The rest of the cage basically clips together. I did need a pair of pliers to tweak a couple of the steel wires to make things fit.
I should have used a tape to measure the specs first because i was surprised at how big the cage actally was. Bigger than she needs but she will be happy once she gets used to it.
My only negative is that I now see that any cage I buy in the future will be smaller than the 'catch pan'. If the 'catch pan' has the same outside measurement as the cage, when the bird sits on the outside edge of the cage and faces inward, the tail is outside the edge of the pan and the poop lands on the floor. If this design aspect was incorporated into the design of this cage it would be far and beyond any that I have seen so far.
I am very happy with this cage and it was delivered before the estimated time.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT CAGE for an INCREDIBLE PRICE   October 26, 2007
Received this cage and must say that I am completely surprized and pleased with the quality. It is HUGE!! and heavy, and very well built.
I have seen cages like this in pet stores for around $250.00 and up.
Very easy to assemble, I did it with the help of my 9 year old.
Birds and family all very happy.

4 out of 5 stars Really a great value   April 29, 2007

Total cost, with shipping from California to Florida, was $99.99, or a hundred bucks if you de-retailize it.

This cage is far superior to the $62-$99 cages, some of which did not include stand, in our local pet supply places. It is also much larger. The local cheap ones were flimsy and this one is strong. To get one of a similar size at our local retailers would be in the $250-$400 range. The $250 ones locally have slightly thicker bars (slightly) than this one on Amazon. The $300-$400 local cages are the bomb-proof ones with "square" bars.

I'd say this one would retail for $200-$250 if I could find it locally. It is a great bargain at $100 delivered to my door, ordered last Sunday afternoon and received FedEx Ground on the next Friday, tracking it all the way.

There are no directions, just an illustration of all the parts showing how they are oriented. I do not design the rocket boosters over at the Cape, but despite lack of brains and engineering skills found assembling it very straightforward. It took about an hour.

The stand is nice and the casters pivot and roll easily.

We use it for a Cockateil, but it would easily have kept our more aggressive (and sadly departed) Sun Conure from escaping. I feel it would safely accommodate any typical companion bird other than maybe a big, Macaw-type esape artist. I've never owned a big bird like that, so if you do and are considering this cage I hope I've said enough to help you.

Buy with great confidence.
