Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
It's the easy flinging, far flying, high floating, fun fetch toy with the handy throw rope. The tennis fetch stick is securely attached to a nylon rope that lets you get the maximum distance from every toss. Air Kong Toys are just what they look like--100% pure tennis ball made in the same factory, using the same materials, as any high-quality tennis ball. Totally non-toxic. This is a supervised play toy--not a food product. Do not leave toy unattended with animals that eat toys. Made in China.

Amazon.com Review
Sticks and tennis balls: two canine favorites, brought together at last. This versatile plaything feels like a tennis ball in a dog's mouth, but it grips and tugs like a stick. The goofy, unpredictable bounce is tailor-made for epic games of chase, while an attached, heavy-duty nylon rope contributes to the tugging and fetching fun-and adds some distance to your throw, to wear out even the most tireless stick junkie. Great for retriever training, this toy also floats, for hours of fun by land or by sea. The Air Kong fetch stick is made in the USA from durable, high-quality tennis-ball material. Unlike typical tennis balls, however, the non-toxic felt covering on an Air Kong is specially designed not to wear down dogs' teeth as they play. The large stick measures eleven inches long and is recommended for larger breeds, such as German Shepherds, Rottweilers, mastiffs, and some Labs. --Mary Park

5 out of 5 stars Great Fetch Toy!   June 4, 2008
This makes the daily fetch game with our dog much more pleasant! We all love it.Large Air Fetch Stick w/Rope

4 out of 5 stars It didn't last long!   November 14, 2007
I gave this to my LABRADOR RETRIEVER puppy on her first birthday. She loves tennis balls and when I gave her this she went "BONKERS" like a cat does with catnip. The first thing to go was the ROPE. [SHE CHEWED THRU THAT IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES]. Not being able to TOW it around anymore caused her to begin throwing it. The next thing to go was my wife's glass of wine. When I put her in the KENNEL to go to sleep, I put the "Air Kong Large Fetch Stick" in her KENNEL too! She was up half the night throwing the "Air Kong Large Fetch Stick" against the KENNEL walls. She loves the " Air Kong Large Fetch Stick with Rope" but I rated it 4 stars out of 5 because by morning there was very little left!

4 out of 5 stars doogy gift   October 6, 2007
I was a bit disappointed that the "large" size of this item was not a bit LARGER.... they're gifts for huge dogs. But they ARE nifty and I'm sure they'll enjoy chomping on them.

5 out of 5 stars Strong & durable... and my beagle likes it.   October 4, 2007
She just likes to chew on the rope part, but it's a toy she doesn't ignore which makes it a success in my book. I'd buy this one again based on the fact that it's a tough toy. It's one my golden can't destroy in minutes as he does with his stuffed toys... seek-and-destroy doggie that he is.

5 out of 5 stars My Dog LOVES this toy   August 4, 2007
I have a yellow lab - she's a field lab, so she can't get enough of running, jumping, fetching, chewing even at[...]. She LOVES this. Its a summer toy for her - I throw it in a lake, she throws herself in after it and swims it back to me. If she even knows its in the car, she will just park herself outside the door where she thinks it is, stare at it and whimper/whine until I get it out and start the play session. She really loves tennis balls for fetch, but she likes this MUCH MUCH more.

Like anything with tennis ball fuzz, she will try and rip it off. The only kind of toy I can let her play with unsupervised is some kind of heavy rubber, uncoated kong - she will rip ropes, plush toys, squeeky toys, etc. apart in minutes. I don't want her to ruin this, so I only use it during swimming sessions and don't let her retrieve it and then start shredding it - otherwise she would certainly remove the tennis ball fuzz. But even then, I imagine the underlying kong would remain intact.

I don't think the addition of the rope as Kong seems to have done is a very good idea, but I'm going to buy a lifetime supply of these anyway. She's just so bonkers over it.
