Quality Product - but it gives you FISH BURPS May 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just bought this product. Fish Oil is great! A month ago, I took Nature's Bounty Fish Oil for a few weeks, and to my surprise, I was more productive at work -> my mind was clearer; it improved my brain functioning, and no fish burps. I advise you to take it in the morning - however, be wary of the side effects - for now, all I notice is small fish burps - and some stinky farts. I'm a businessman, so it's important that I don't burp/fart around the client! :) That said, PureGels Omega-3 seems to be a better quality product - with a detailed title like "Cold Water Fish Oil EPA 300 mg/dha" sure sounds like they know what they're talking about. We'll see how I do in a month.
Best Omega 3 product April 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been taking Omega 3 for over 2 years now. A doctor recomended them to my wife for mood improvement. I started to take them also, who doesn't want to improve their mood? The effects were more than surprising. I have a bad knee and some joint pain due to arthritis. I used to wear a knee brace everyday. After about three months I haven't needed the knee brace, Advil (9 per day) or wrist brace (for carpal tunnel). I can't believe the difference! Before you think this is unusual let me say we have 2 1/2 year old Boxer dog that developed a limp in her front legs, sometimes on the right leg other days on the left leg. We spent over $1500 on vet bills, finally the vet told us that he found nothing conclusive on X-Ray or other tests. He suggested exploratory surgery at a specialist, probably $2000 to $3000, just to find out what the problem was. I decided to put her on Omega 3 once a day. It's been over a year now and she is fine, no signs of pain or limping anymore and no more vet bills! The catch is the original Dr. recomended 3 to 6 grams daily fo EPA and DHA (the two ingedients that matter). With most Omega 3 brands that means taking 12 to 18 tabs daily. With the Pure Gels you get 3grams with 6 tabs a day (this is what I take). I did not expect any of the benefits that I have had from Omega 3, but even my regualr Dr. tells me that they are finding more benefits all the time- lower colesterol- general reduced inflamation- etc. Ask your Dr. or give it a try like I did, remember you need to take between 3-6 grams daily. I still can abuse my wrist and have a bad night of carpal tunnel, but it usually is just that a night, before Omega 3 I had 2-3 nights a week of disturbed sleep and was considering surgery on both wrists. I have tried many of the other brands of Omega 3s on the market, this is the best and highest concentrated I have found, I highly recommend.
I'm sold on the Puregels! February 13, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When I read about the benefits of Omega 3 I was sold on starting to take the pills everyday since I do not eat seafood. I picked the Puregels brand brand because it clearly says "cold water fish" on the bottle and in my research I found that was very important. I've been taking the pills 3x per day for about three months now and notice a huge difference in the texture and length of my hair and also in the clarity of my skin. My skin just looks healthier and my hair is shiney and growing fast.
A good value January 2, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have compared several different brands of fish oil, as far as how much EPA and DHA (I think those are what your supposed to be looking for). These seem to have the right amount if you take three a day. My husband and I each take at least 3 a day, so while not wanting to skimp on necessary ingredients, these were the least expensive. They don't have any fish odor, the descrition tells you they are distilled and checked for mercury and other heavy metals, so I hope they are being honest. So, if your Dr. had advised that you take fish oil, or even if he/she hasn't, you might want to try these. The only thing I wish they said on their label was whether or not the gelatin is from animal or plant materials.
