Love the phone overall, only a couple of small nitpicks August 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We ordered this phone system mainly for its intercom capability. My mom lives with us, and having this phone gives me great peace of mind because I know she can alert me wherever I am in the house. We have handsets in the office, kitchen, bedroom, and in her room. If I'm doing something out of earshot or playing music, she can intercom me rather than trying to yell to get my attention. Also, we can easily transfer calls to one another.
My only small complaints are: 1) the ringer volume button is on the side, right where I normally grasp the phone, so I'm always changing the volume accidentally, and 2) it lists all calls as "missed calls" and I have to go in and delete them manually or the display always shows missed calls. However, I'm willing to admit it's possible there's a setting that I've missed that I could change.
The directory is easy to store numbers in and retrieve when dialing. I like the ease of playing and deleting messages from the answering system as well.
All in all, we are very happy with our purchase!
Very nice phone with a few drawbacks August 18, 2008 We purchased these phones a few days ago to replace our Unidens which died after 2 years of moderate to light use. We read a lot of reviews online about these as well as some Panisonic models, one of the things I loved about these phones over the top rated Panisonic models is that the on & off buttons are nice & large compared to the pea sized ones on the Panasonic. Ultimately we wound up going with this model because it was rated #1 by Consumer Reports. The range on these phones is a huge improvement over our old phones and the difference in clarity is night and day. These phones have better reception than any other models we've owned. The ringer volume can go up very high which is nice if you have background noise, the radio, etc. The menus are exteremly simple and easy to navigate and I love the blue display.
There are 2 things I am unhappy with- 1. You can only check messages from the answering machine base instead of being able to listen to the answering machine from any cordless handset. 2. There isn't a clock display on the phone, even when you hit talk or end it still only shows you a counter for how long you've been on the phone. I wish I could just pick up the phone and see what time it was because I'm often in a situation where I have the phone nearby but not a clock.
Easy Setup great Range August 12, 2008 Easy setup... Impressive range. I have a big old house. I had to walk well into the next block before I lost the signal.
Nice looking light phone
Top notch phone July 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Nice product, easy to set up, good range that covers the whole house, plus deck, garage, most of both yards, and the driveway. Excellent sound, clear and accurate pitch without ringing or echo. Stylish handsets that are light. Intercom feature is a plus. Minor quibble #1: it would be nice if the handsets had a battery meter; if there is one, I haven't found it. Keep them in the cradles, I suppose. Minor quibble #2: about those cradles... the phones do not fit firmly in them, but rather "set" in them, and they fall out easily when jostled.
Still, an excellent product. It gets 5 stars on performance, knocked down one for the little things.
Excellent Value! July 16, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
These phones replaced 4 year old Panasonic phones. I am very pleased with the performance of these phones and the answering system works well. Much simpler than the "top rated" Panasonic that I did have. The price is unbelievable for what you get. You will not be disappointed.
