Good product, price on Amazon is the best May 13, 2008 I've owned my Hoover Windtunnel for about 3 years now. Type Y bags are between difficult and impossible to find replacement for....especially at WalMart. Amazon has, no doubt, the best price. The product is described quite well in the other Customer Reviews.... the bags work great.....they are a bit expensive..... they do tend to fill up quickly, but I own 3 dogs, Golden Retrievers, and I expect with their shedding I would look for the bag to fill quicker than usual..... When I replace the bag, I've found that if I place the machine on a low table, and lower the handle as low as it will go... almost flat, then the bag is horizontal, I can remove the bag quite easily with a minimum of dust spillage. I had some generic bags which came with a small wide piece of clear Scotch tape which one would use to seal the full bag. This feature is great when I am vacuuming for fleas........... but the Hoover Genuine product doesn't have this tape so I use a small piece of Scotch shipping tape to seal things up. I miss this feature. 5 Star Review is appropriate.
great price for OEM bags May 8, 2008 I purchased two packages of bags and the price was the best I could find for the ones I needed for my Hoover. The bags look Hoover OEM and with the allergen filtrate which is great.
Pretty standard, easy to use April 19, 2008 I use these for my Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum. They're pretty standard/easy to replace. I've been told they're a little small for vacuum cleaner bag, but I've had no problems.
five starts for filtration, zero for ease of use September 10, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First the complaint - these bags are awfully pricey considering that they fill up so fast. The bag is too big for the compartment, so you have to fold it over at the top and bottom to get it to fit into the allotted space. Despite having owned this model vacuum for seven years, I still need three hands to get the corners of the over-sized bag tucked into place before slamming the compartment shut.
Changing the bag is a dirty bit of business, because when you pull the old bag off, all that super-fine dust at the top goes *POOF* and escapes from the bag's opening . We've taken to putting the vacuum on the back porch before opening up the bag compartment to keep dust out of our home.
I see a name brand competitor has come up with a solution to this by putting a little trap door thingie by the bag's opening, so when you pull the bag off the vacuum, all the dust doesn't fly out of the bag and go *POOF*.
Okay - the positive - these Hoover paper bags do a decent job of trapping fine dust particles, but I do wish they'd figure out how to make bag removal and installation easier. Or just make the bag a different shape so you're not contorting it to get it into the allotted space.
More recently, I've started using Filtrete (3M) bags. Made of cloth, they're lined with an electrostatically charged media which captures dust and dirt down to .3 microns. Because they're cloth (instead of stiff paper, like these bags), they're much easier to install into the Hoover vacuum. The Filtrete bags are more expensive than the paper bags, but I think they're worth the extra money.
