The item was received in good shape. The gradations of colors for different pH levels are not very clear. It's hard, for example, to tell whether a sample is 6.75 or 7.0. It isn't very clear why there are two spots of two different colors, either. Wouldn't one color suffice?

These test strips are superior to basic litmus paper as they are designed specially to accurately measure the PH of the human body via the body fluids (saliva and urine). Although the idea of measuring the ph of one's body fluids probably strikes you as strange (it certainly did me when I first heard about it) it is really a worthwhile habit. The ph of our body has a strong correlation to cancer, heart disease, arthritis and other "inflamatory" diseases. Measuring your ph will allow you to assess your current lifestyle habits and make changes to improve both your current health and your longevity. As a side note: the company which manufactures these test strips is very professional, and the strips are as good a buy for the money as any litmus paper you could buy from a general science store.

I have been an adamant pH tester for many years and have always been restricted to using the litmus paper. Those of you who have used this know that it can be bulky and inconvenient most of the time. The pH stix are so easy and so much cleaner than the paper! I can check my pH anywhere, anytime with no hassle at all and I would recommend this product to anyone!
