There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm, and sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Slide your left arm through the cuff and position the cuff approximately 0.5-inches above the elbow. On the cuff you'll notice a green marker; position this marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. Next, secure the cuff with the Velcro material. The cuff should make direct contact with your skin, but you should be able to easily fit your index finger between the cuff and your arm. Place your arm on a table so that the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure measurement. Once you feel relaxed, simply press the start button and remain still. The cuff will begin to inflate and numbers will appear on the display as the heart symbol flashes. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate.  Blood Pressure Monitor July 4, 2008
The Omron HEM-780 is a very good blood pressure monitor that has several useful features like being able to determine morning hyperteasion. I took it to my doctor's office and had it calibrated to the regular blood pressure he uses in his office and the numbers were right on (good accuracy)..
Excellent product July 2, 2008
Excellent in every way. Doc was about to put me on BP reducing med, but I talked him into getting a month of baseline readings before I filled the prescription. Good thing as it turned out that not only was my BP normal and required no intervention, but his wall unit in his office was giving out false high readings! Not only did it save me from a possible disaster, others may have been rescued as well. And of course I saved $$$$ by not having to fill the prescription(it was expensive at $60 per month!) Incidentally, it is the best price on the 'net, too! Thank you for excellent service and an excellent product!

appears to be accurate. There are lots of features on this device that I really do not use. The display is easy to read and the arm device is simple to place on either the right or left arm. I am not going to rate this 5 stars due to the fact I cannot compare this device to other similiar brands. I am very satisfied to date. This was well worth the investment.
