Dove clinical protection soothes and conditions skin while providing outstanding wetness protection. View larger. | Prescription-strength Protection Without a Prescription Dove clinical protection was formulated specifically for women seeking superior protection from wetness but without the irritation. It is clinically proven to be as effective as prescription anti-perspirants in controlling underarm wetness, but doesn't contain aluminum chloride like prescription products. Aluminum chloride is an acidic ingredient, and can cause skin irritation and discomfort. Dove's 1/4 Moisturizers Soothe Your Skin Dove clinical solid formula contains 1/4 moisturizers with sunflower oil to soothe and condition underarm skin even while providing prescription strength wetness protection. Versatile Application Dove clinical protection can be applied either in the morning or before going to bed. For best results, apply before going to bed as the formula acclimates to the body and forms a deep level of protection while you are sleeping. This protection lasts throughout the following day, even after a shower. The recommended dose for each underarm is two clicks. Safe For You and Your Skin Anti-perspirants have been used for more than sixty years and overwhelming evidence indicates they are safe and effective. Dove clinical protection was created through work with leading academic institutions around the world to advance understanding of sweating and underarm protection. Anti-perspirants reduce sweat by controlling the flow of underarm perspiration and masking body odor. This is different from deodorants which prevent odor by using fragrance and reducing the levels of underarm bacteria but do not stop sweating.

  Very good for underarm wetness issues October 7, 2008 I would highly recommend this product. If underarm wetness is an issue, this product is very effective in dealing with it.
  Great new deodorant choice! September 8, 2008 This product worked well all day and would highly recommend it to anyone. I like that is has a light scent. I would prefer no scent. However, I have yet to find anything that doesn't have some kind of scent, no matter what the label claims.
I think it's great that you click the bottom to get exactly the right amount of product. With regular solid it's hard to tell. I also think the deodorant stays cleaner and perhaps works better that way. It also doesn't leave white marks on clothes.
  Strong Enough for a Man... Maybe TOO Strong for This One August 23, 2008 Since I was already using another "nighttime application" anti-perspirant: Certain Dri Anti-Perspirant, Roll-On, 1.2 fl oz (35.5 ml), which I set aside for the purposes of this test, I was curious to see how this product would differ. The most obvious difference was that unlike the Certain Dri, which can be used as infrequently as once every three days, Dove clinical protection is a "use every night" product.
The result? While I never felt quite as dry as I did with the Certain Dri, the Dove was pretty darn close. Moreover the Dove felt MUCH gentler to my sadly over-sensitive skin...
unfortunately perhaps not quite gentle enough. Towards the end of a month of usage I noticed some redness in the affected areas (surprisingly pain free) that would go away when I switched to some other anti-perspirant for a few days only to eventually return after I switched back to the Dove. Unexpectedly this proved less of a problem with the noticeably harsher Certain Dri, perhaps because I was always going at least one and often two days between applications.
So ye of sensitive skin have been warned. As for combining this product with shaving, alas, this man cannot help you. Ask a lady reviewer.
  Smells Great August 22, 2008 I gave this one to my girlfriend, also not realizing it was for women only. She actually liked it. As mentioned by others, she liked the clean feeling and the moisturizers. It kept her dry too. I, of course, really liked the smell of the stuff. :-}
  Sweet Smell of Success August 20, 2008 I tried the Dove Clinical Protection stick once and it did the job, but since I'm loyal to the brand I've been using for twenty years, I decided to hand this over to my wife.
She loves it.
Her summary is that it's the first deodorant she's ever used that didn't go on sticky and then feel clumpy at the end of the day.
Her word was "smooth"... But the important part is that it kept her dry and smelling sweet, even during our hottest days of summer. That's important for her, as she works in a hospital and absolutely can't smell bad around her patients.
So, while I'm going to be loyal to my old brand, my wife will be switching to the Dove Clinical Protection.
