PAPER, AWESOME; SYNAPSE BAD April 18, 2008 Ordered the subscription on Dec 10, 2007. It is 18th of April 2008 and I still have not recieved my order. Synapse took the payment yet never reported it to the publisher. Synapse also has a customer service number that they will not reveal. Instead I was told a customer service rep will return my call, but have not received such phonecalls.
Anyway, I am told by Synapse fake cs call center (800-586-2199 supplied by amazon) that subscription was placed with the publisher again on 17th of April (by the real cs whom i cannot directly contact).
I'll have to wait and see to confirm with FT. As of yet, FT has no records.
Will update later...
FT Fantastic - But DO NOT ORDER THROUGH AMAZON. March 24, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is the best paper I have ever read. But I used Amazon to re-subscribe and the Synapse Services are NOT FUNCTIONAL. The paper was ordered Dec 21st 2007 and this is being written Mar 24th 2008. The Syanpse Service was first contacted Mar 7th 2008 and promised they would fix things. Then called again last Friday. They said the person in Florida had called me this morning, as I was speaking to someone in Maine. No one had called, it was a big lie.
When you call they have a 100% voice recognition system but none of this information is passed on to the person who answers the phone. So something is really missing here, like they shut down their call center and have hired people in the woods of Maine now to answer the phone.. I am just guessing.
I have to expect they are having company problems and they are not passing on the subscription money. Financial Times has no record they have been contacted by them. Do not send your money through them. Now I have to see if Amazon can get back my $$$.
I have ordered lots of stuff through Amazon for at least a decade and this is totally the exception to the rule. One of their third parties is failing and don't get stuck in their quicksand.

A+ for FT, D- for Synapse and Amazon; news three days late March 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love the FT. I also love Amazon. I cannot say enough good things about each, but 'Synapse Services', the subscription management company Amazon uses, seems typically sub-par for this industry.
My sub still hadn't started after two months, so I called SS. To their credit, they admitted the FT had no knowledge of my order, and resubmitted it. I started getting my papers within two weeks. Unfortunately, I get them two to four days late. Getting three papers on one day, all from last week, is just not going to cut it.
I do not live in a metro area, but the WSJ is delivered every day by 7AM; why can't the FT do this as well?
FT is good, but (Amazon + Synapse) combo is BAD. March 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Amazon + Synapse combo is bad. STAY AWAY!!!
I submitted my FT order on 26th Dec 2007. I was promised to get my first issue on 11th Feb 2008. But did not receive anything from them.
After several calls, they responded via email that somehow my address was not on file of publisher and therefore they resubmitted the order.
The first issue I received was on 15th March 2008 and surprisingly they converted my subscription to WEEKLY instead of DAILY which I had originally paid for (308 issues in 12 months)
Synapse's customer service is very bad. They won't tell you what's going on. They will take your phone number with a FALSE promise to call you back.
I am pretty disappointed to see that I will be getting only weekly edition after paying for daily subscription.
Hope someone is listening.

I've been a voracious FT-reader ever since we were required to subscribe to it at graduate Business School. Each issue is a book full of insightful news coverage, beautifully-crafted prose and humorous commentary. The weekend edition gives me reading pleasure and insight all week long.
The FT is my invaluable tool, keeping me up-to-date on all global Political Economy issues. I recommend it unreservedly.
