5 out of 5 stars Very Fast Ship Time - Arrived Already!   July 24, 2008

MacLife (2-year) I ordered a subscription on June 25th and the August issue arrived on July 22nd! This was a full month earlier than expected.
I was a previous Mac|Life subscriber, thereby knowing what the content of the magazine was. As a result, I find it very enjoyable. Since I have an Intel iMac running Leopard v10.5.4, of course I want the content of the magazine to be as current as my Mac is.
All in all, the magazine does a fine job of reviewing products and describing upcoming software. The ads often keep me apprised of what's out there and what's coming. If it appears biased toward Macs, DOH! What would one expect a Mac magazine to be? When necessary, they've taken Apple to task.
I am very pleased.

I purchased both MacLife and Macworld. Both of them are excellent ,However I think MacLife is a little more informative

5 out of 5 stars A highly biased review from MacAddict's Editor in Chief   November 1, 2001

Hey, I'm being honest up front -- full disclosure, and all that jazz...

I'm the Editor in Chief at MacAddict, and I gotta say that if you're a fan of the Mac, you'll definitely love our magazine. Our monthly goal is to help you get the most out of your Mac, so we cram each issue full of how-to stories, tips'n'tricks, product recommendations, and bright shiny objects -- all written and laid out with that now-famous MacAddict attitude.

If you love your Mac and want to enjoy yourself while learning how to squeeze the last possible drop of fun out of it -- and bend it to your will when using it for actual work, as well -- you'll love our magazine.

And if you don't, tell me why -- maybe you've got some great ideas about how we could improve it.

5 out of 5 stars A must-have subscription for Mac users   February 6, 2002

If you are thinking about getting a Macintosh, have just bought a new Mac or if you just have an old Mac Classic in your attic, this Magazine is a must-have. I have every issue from the first one and I keep them all as references.

They have ads, but they are not full of ads like many of their competitors. Every single issue has a "get info" secion where commonly and not-so-commonly asked questions and/or problems are asked and answered.

Every issue has at least one tutorial on a major Mac product... from Photoshop to Quicken and everything in between. Many items are reviewed from kid's games, learning software, scanners, digital cameras, etc... in a language that mere mortals can understand.

Like any magazine, there are articles I could care less about, but every single issue has at least one article that makes having the magazine worth keeping indefinitely.

While they show off the features of the latest greatest Macs, they do not ignore the old beige Mac Classics and their siblings... how-to articles on upgrading different models are featured often and the accompanying CD will contain latest updates from Apple (so you don't have to download), shareware and freeware apps described in the Magazine and apps for OSX, Classic and older (pre OS 8) Macs are included.

I can't say enough how much I treasure my subscription to MacAddict.

5 out of 5 stars Useful info, great buying tips, best of the Mac mags   December 6, 2001

I have been a MacAddict subscriber since Issue #1 and have since discontinued all of the other Mac magazines I used to subscribe to. MacAddict is lighthearted but every month provides genuinely useful information in a manner which is neither too techy nor too condescending. Reviews of products are fair and impartial. MacAddict helps newbies and seasoned Mac users alike get the most from their Macs, and I recommend it without reservation to anyone looking for a gift for a Mac user. The monthly CD is especially nice for those who don't have a broadband internet connection and can't easily download the huge demos of new games.
