Very poor shipping practice July 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have used glass nail files for several years and they cut nail edges very clean. Sephora ships their Glass Nail file in a soft plastic envelope with no packing. It arrived in four pieces and they will not replace it. They will refund the cost of the file, but not the shipping which is as much as the file. The other brand purchased through Amazon arrived intact even though the BOX was brutalized by UPS, and it has both sides of the file useable. If you like them, I would recommend the Crystal brand.
Poor Product June 12, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was very disappointed in this product. I have another brand name glass nail file and it is a million times better. And plus, only one side has a filing side.
Love it! February 26, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Another awesome item recommended by my manicurist. It doesn't wear out like emery boards do and it's not as harsh as a metal file. It does a great job.
Excellent buy for the price. February 8, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
What is nice about this product has nothing to do with its efficacy and everything to do with its lifespan. In fact, it can take a bit of time to even get used to the feeling, but I've had the product for 5 months and it hasn't even shown a sign of wear after weekly use. Probably the biggest downside to the product is that since it doesn't wear down the nail dust clings to it. Every handful or so of strokes you will need to wipe it off, so it really requires some cloth to go with it. Despite the few annoyances (sometimes it feels like scratching a chalkboard), it is -definitely- worth it. You will save some money if you currently use emery boards.
only one disadvantage... January 8, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I really like these files and have given these as gifts! Mine has lasted a few years and looks just like new. They take off alot of length very quickly... like when you break one and the other nine now have to be shorter :( My nails are very strong and I can wipe out a cardboard emory board pretty fast. The downside to them being strong is that they break far when they break!
Anyway, this file makes them smooth and shorter very quickly. The only disadvantage is that the files are thick. Regular paper emory boards can get under the sides of your nails much better. I use these to do most of the mani/pedi stuff, but still need the old kind to finish the smaller/tighter areas.
