Great intro to brushes, but hurts July 6, 2008 I got this brush as part of the intro kit to bare escentuals. I'm really glad to have tried the brush. I didn't really use brushes before this one.
On the flip side, I don't use this brush anymore. It's just too rough and hard on my face. I don't think I had enough experience to notice in the beginning, not to mention the makeup was so great - it made up for the brush's short comings.
Go for it in the kit. If you want to try a single brush, look for something softer for the same price.
poor quality brush March 10, 2008 I thought that since this brush was made by the same company as the much touted Bare Escentuals mineral powder that it would be good quality. I was wrong -- it continually sheds with every use and also irritates my skin pretty badly. Better to try a different brand for this kind of brush!
Only worth it in the starter kit. February 13, 2008 Got this in the starter kit and it sheds leaving single strands in my makeup compact, blushes and allover my face and clothes. Not really worth purchasing. It works OKAY but not great as it is poorly made.
Ok in the beginning. February 4, 2008 When I first purchased this with the set it was okay. Now after about 15 applications it hurts and is very scratchy. Also noticed shedding a while back. I would definitely not purchase this product again.
Ouch! October 30, 2007 Using this brush hurts...a lot. I noticed the second I started using it, especially because we're suppose to buff the powder in. I don't have very sensitive skin and it would hurt anyone who doesn't have skin like an alligator. The bristles are hard, not at all soft like other bristles. The only reason I have this is because I bought the kit. For the price that it cost to buy it separately, I would recommend buying a professional brush from Sephora. They have great brushes and best of all, you can try out the brush at the store. If it doesn't feel nice when you buff the bristles on your face (or the back of your hand if you're worried about cleanliness), don't get it. Sephora has a great collection of synthetic or animal hair brushes that would feel much better and will probably even work better. The hairs won't fall off every single time you use it either, unlike this brush. Make a better investment and buy a better brush.
