Lovely fragrance June 13, 2009 M (mariah Carey) by Mariah Carey for Women, 3.4 oz Eau De Parfum Spray
I have been looking for a perfume for quite a while - it seems every time I find one I like, it is discontinued. I prefer to have one "signature" perfume--one that I wear all the time for most occasions. I was very surprised to discover that I love this fragrance. It is on the sweet side, but has a complexity of layers that is feminine but not cloying. It also has wonderful staying power--even the most expensive designer fragrances seem to fade on me quickly. M does not.
M is a lovely perfume and the bottle is gorgeous, and happens to be my favorite shade of blue (or purple, for arguments's sake).
I bought the perfume as an early birthday present to myself - Happy Birthday to me!
Ideal autumn/winter scent September 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you like Pink Sugar, Fantasy, Angel, Princess or Flowerbomb you need to try M. It's sweet, but not too sweet. The notes of marshmallow & sea breeze accord bring back childhood memories of autumn holiday's by the sea, walking along near the fairs.
Despite it not being overpowering, the staying power is very good. I love the colour purple & I have a butterfly tattoo, so I think the bottle is lovely.
Scent notes: Marshmallow, sea breeze accord, Tahitian Tiare, gardenia, sheer amber, patchouli and Moroccan incense.
Old Lady in a bottle September 4, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love Mariah and am a huge fan. So, like a geek, when this came out I was tempted to buy it without even smelling it just because I love her and wanted the pretty bottle/box with her name on it as like a collectors memento. Honestly, I'm really glad I sampled it before buying, because I was really disappointed with it. I'm not sure at all where the marshmallow-ness comes into play... because all I got from it was an overpowering "old lady" stench. It literally smells like stale time in a bottle. Like dead flowers and moth balls and the back of some powdery old-lady neck at church. Whats worse is, I sprayed it on to sample it and it got on my clothes and stayed with me --strongly I might add-- all day. There is nothing subtle whatsoever about this scent. It is like old-lady skunk. Some people on here are saying its light and clean and this baffles me. It has a very distinct musky smell. And I'm not against those, actually I really like "Angel" By Thiery Mugler, but this one is just ghastly, and way too overpowering.
Food + Musk does not equal good June 23, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a love/hate relationship with celebrity perfumes. I love lots of them (the Britney Spears one, the Hilary Duff one, several of J. Lo's) but I'm often not a huge fan of the celebrities involved. And I'm not a huge Mariah Carey fan, but given that I've enjoyed other celebrity perfume scents I was willing to give this a go. Unfortunately, I don't care for the scent any more than I care for Mariah Carey. This smells like cake to me- cake with musky notes. The cake note are more prominent at first, then it becomes more musky. Cake and musk are just two things that (at least for me) should not go together. If you like cake smells, I'm sure this is great, but cake is not very popular with me. So, I'm not very fond of this, but foody fans might well like it.
Leave it to Mariah to make the perfect scent!! May 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a big Mariah Carey fan, always have been. I'm not gonna lie, I was gonna buy this just because it was hers but, initially, it wasn't going to be my first choice. I went to Macy's because I was actually gonna buy Kimora Lee Simmons Baby Phat Perfum as an early Mother's Day gift to myself. I sprayed it on, smelled it and was about to ask to purchase the Mother's day set (which they had plenty of) when I was like "hold on, where's Mariah Carey's perfum?" The lady walked me over to it and there were only a few bottles left and no Mother's Day sets. There was a good reason for this. I asked her if I could try it out. WOW! OMG it smelled SOOOO GOOD! It's gotta sweet smell that lasts for a LONG time (I tried it on right before I went to work, around 10 am and I could still smell it when I was getting ready for bed! Baby Phat wore off about 4 hours into use while Mariah's was still goin strong!) I smelled Baby Phat on my left hand, Mariah's on my right.. left, right. Lol I told her I'd come back after I made up my mind (I've already got tons of perfum, I don't really need more.) I work around mostly men so I decided to do a test so I'll know which one to get. I asked 10 people, 1 woman 9 guys. 7 people said Mariah Carey, 2 said Baby Phat and 1 liked both. I decided to get Mariah Carey's Limited Edition Gold AND the Eau De. I hope the gold smells as good as the regular! I had to order it online because it's sold out! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I just found out, also, this fragrance was nominated for a FiFi Perfum award.
