'D&G 1 - Le Bateleur' (or The Seducer) is one of the new unisex scents from D&G. It doesn't really smell like anything I have experienced before. It is a very light, aquatic scent that doesn't have the musky odor of most other scents out there.
To preface, I would most definitely recommend this scent for a man. Upon first smell you will be intrigued by the light, aromatic top notes. After sitting on your skin for a while you will begin to notice the deeper, slightly-woody parts of this interesting and subtle scent. At no point during wearing it do I ever find it overbearing like many products abound. The only downside (for some) could be that it is rather light. Maybe not best for a night on the town, but perfect for an afternoon out to lunch or even in the workplace.
This is one of the best, most distinctive scents I have come across since Dolce and Gabbana's 'The One'. While in some aspects it is very similar to 'D&G 6 - L'Amoureux' (the other Unisex launch considered to be "For Men") the finish is completely different. L'Amoureux finishes with a strong bergamot / woody scent that could be a little too heavy during hot days.
While the concept for unisex scents as a whole may still need some work, this scent by itself is a work of art. Its fun and inviting but not overbearing - a wonderful smell all around.
