Product Description For those of you who still use steam irons at home, especially for a large family, Rowenta irons are known for being solid and dependable. The DZ9080 moves the steam iron up to yet a higher level employing a new design and using better materials to make ironing easier and more efficient than ever. A completely new construction technique provides the Rowenta Microsteam soleplate with the best ever steam and heat distribution for the most effective ironing. More than 400 microsteam holes ensure even and optimal steam distribution from tip of the soleplate to the rounded rear for fast, expert results with ease. A multiple layer stainless steel soleplate is attached to the heavy aluminum core in a unique way that provides an ultra smooth surface with a thin edge that can iron up to buttons, seams and delicate fabrics without snagging. Platinium treating on the soleplate's surface offers excellent glide and the scratch resistant properties of the stainless steel produces a harder surface with better non stick and non scratch properties. The DZ9080 has an electronic temperature control that combines sensitive electronic sensors and controls with LED indicators for precision and accuracy. Rowenta's pressurized Steam Advance system adjusts for optimal performance and results when used with different fabrics. Delicate steam is used for delicate fabrics that require gentle care. High pressure steam for thicker fabrics and tough wrinkles. So to flatten out stubborn wrinkles and to get the best appearance from all your clothes, the Rowenta DZ9080 Advancer Iron is the best home tool for the job.

The Best Iron I have ever owned August 29, 2008 I have been ironing for 31 years now (gee how time flies when you are having fun!), and this is by far the best iron I have ever owned. I have gone from owning dime store irons, to department store irons; and now this, the Cadillac of irons! It is definitely worth the money. I was spoiled on my T-Fall iron, but the steamer on it went out within 6 months but since it was a heavy weight iron I held onto it for 10 years. Then I was browsing the Amazon website and read up on the Rowenta irons. Since I use extremely heavy starch in my shirts (Sta-Flo), the T-Fall iron couldn't handle the starched in wrinkles my shirts had (since I would dip them and hang them up to dry); but this Rowenta iron gets the wrinkles out perfectly with 1-2 passes over each area. It actually makes this dreadful chore a little easier.
The best yet! August 28, 2008 I consider myself an ironing aficionado.(I even re-iron my dry cleaning), and I must say this is the best iron I have ever owned. Don't worry about the extra weight of this iron, with all its steam vents, it literally guilds over the fabric. It works as well on difficult fabrics such as linen and equally as well on silk. Just buy it! It's worth the exrta money.
All the glitters August 13, 2008 When I bought the Black and Decker 2030 based on recommendations on this site, I was hoping that it would perform better than my 17 year old Norelco 725 steam iron which required that I spray the garment with water before ironing to get a good press. But when I compared the two (with the both on the highest steam setting), making a single slow pass over a linen shirt, the Norelco actually did better! The B&D burst of steam was impressive, but it wasn't enough to remove the wrinkles on its own. The B&D has its steam holes around the perimeter, leading me to try out the Rowenta DZ9080 which has them distributed more evenly. It has a larger plate and looks great. But using the same test, the Rowenta was the poorest performer. The Rowenta did have the best, finest, water spray. But like the B&D's, the Rowenta spray points straight ahead; you have to lift and tilt the iron down to spray the item, which then causes an unnecessary burst of steam.
Doesn't last! August 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am very disillusioned with the concept buying a high end iron, especially a Rowenta iron. It just quit heating completely and suddenly within only 2 years of purchase. I was very pleased with the steaming ability of this iron and expected, at this over $100 price point, it would last a very long time. My cheap Black and Decker iron is still going strong after 10+ years! Of course, there is no local repair facilitiy in the Sacramento area. The nearest Rowenta repair facility in in the San Francsico Bay area. My calls to Rowenta consumer "Service" were unsatisfying. All they would do is send me a $15 gift certificate for toward the purchase of a new Rowenta iron!! Why would I continue to be a Rowenta customer???
THE WORST IRON!!!!!! August 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
THIS IS THE WORST IRON I HAVE EVER PURCHASED. I ALSO BOUGHT A SECOND ONE THINKING THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WAS A FLUKE BUT IT IS NOT. WILL NOT HEAT UP AFTER 4 MONTHS OF USE AND THE AUTO CUTOFF QUIT WORKING 2ND MONTH. BEWARE, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL.
