Product Description Nespresso has developed a unique extraction system specially adapted to capsules. It controls every vital setting when preparing a perfect espresso. Nespresso machines have been designed with renowned partners and designers, and bring out the taste and aromas of coffee by combining quality of design with ease of use. The Nespresso C100 Essenza Automatic Machine is part of our compact line, which features a modern, compact, and practical design. The machine deploys technology essential for preparing an outstanding Espresso, and is exceptionally easy to use: Automatic control of the amount of coffee in the cup. A high pressure pump (19 bars) extracts all the aromas and develops a smooth crema in the cup. A thermobloc which heats water to 187and 196 during extraction and empties the remaining water after each use so that the water is fresh for each preparation. A simple system which perforates the capsule and soaks all the ground coffee to optimally filter the coffee. A functional handle system, which allows for easy coffee preparation. Automatic ejection of used capsule. Removable water container (34 oz). Tray for used capsules. Back-lit control button

Nespresso C100 May 31, 2009 I got my Nepresso machine about six weeks ago (April '09). I've been using it quite a bit and I love it!! The coffee comes out so creamy (and delicious) and the temperature is perfect. If you are considering this machine, I highly recommend.
Perfect Espresso Every Time April 30, 2009 I absolutely love this machine. Have had espresso makers in the past, but the pressure was more like 15 bars and never added a great crema on top. This one always makes a great cup. I like that you can make a true espresso and a lungo (larger cup) with appropriate capsules.
I love that you only have to dump out the capsules once in a while; that it's SO convenient; and that there's no guesswork in getting a perfect cup to drink.
For the price, there's really no downside. No, it doesn't have a way to froth milk. No, it's not a HUGE water container. (But you're also not making big American cups of coffee, so it lasts.) But I also like it for these reasons -- it has a small footprint, so it's easy to tuck between other things on the counter, and there's nothing extra to break or clean.
Easy machine and great espresso.

I was unhappy with the fact that the machine which arrived was defective. I called the manufacturer for advice. They sent me a new machine which works fine, and I returned the original machine to them.
Great little machine January 24, 2009 I purchased the C100 as an upgrade to the D150 we've had for years and I've found it to be a fantastic machine. My wife has 2 cappuccino's each morning and I go with 2 espresso's. The D150 had a milk frother, so for this machine I purchased a handheld frother and couldn't be happier with it....it's actually easier than the steam frother on the old machine. We have 2 sets of different size cups and it was easy to program the C100 to fill both right to the top, I found this to be a great feature(I like my espresso's to be about 3oz's). The old machine had manual flow volume so you had to stand there a watch it fill up and then turn it off, now I just push the button and go off to do something else. If you run a shot of water through with no capsule before your first cup then the rest of them will be piping hot. As for cost, we order 120 capsules at a time(same shipping as for 50), I only get Ristretto and Decaf Intenso(for when I want one in the evening) and including shipping it comes out to .61 cents per serving, that's WAY better than coffee shop prices! The capsules stay fresh until I use them and always put out a great tasting cup! Also, if I order them early in the morning on a weekday, they arrive the next day. The quality of the coffee is excellent and reminds of the cafe's in Spain. The espresso's come out with excellent crema and a nice silky feel in your mouth. The machine is small, attractive, and not as loud as the old one, and I love that it holds about dozen used capsules. All in all if you like espresso and cappuccino's I would really recommend this machine, we put ours to the test everyday and it cranks them out.
was very skeptical about Nestle and Nespresso but not anymore January 17, 2009 Living and working in Europe for close to ten years I've had some very good espressos all over the continent. To be honest I'm really more of an American long coffee drinker but can't always get a true American-style coffee if I'm not at home. I'm a bit of a coffee snob so the thought of watery Nescafe is never very appealing. I couldn't imagine that Nestle could produce such good coffee. Nestle sponsored an even a few months ago and was giving free sample from the Nespresso. I was sold on the taste.
I bought the Nespresso for my wife's birthday. When I'm away it's a bit of a hassle for her to grind bean and prepare coffee for one person. The Nespresso is absolutely convenient. Simply turn on the machine, let it warm, insert the capsule, and choose espresso or lungo (long coffee). No mess to clean. My wife and I have enjoyed every capsule that we've have tried so far. The decafs are also very good.
The Nespresso is probably more of a luxury item as the unit and capsules are relatively expensive. However if you're going out to Starbucks or a cafe for your espressos then you could justify a Nespresso. Perhaps one slight inconvenience is the availability of capsules, namely the need to buy only from Nespresso. This is an inconvenience for one of the most convenient machines. However shipping charges are reasonable. In my case the Nespresso store is only about 5-7 minutes away so I can just stop by.
I would recommend this for people who really like espressos or European long coffees.
