Product Description Bissell, Steam Mop, Hard Floor Cleaner, 100% Chemical Free Cleaning, Safe & Effective, Ready To Use With Water Only, Environmentally Friendly, 360 Degree Swivel Head, Washable Microfiber Mop Pads, Quick Release Cord Wrap, Slim, Lightweight Design.
Amazon.com Review Ideal for the chemically sensitive or those with small children, the Bissell Steam Mop deep-cleans hard-surface floors using the power of pure water alone. No harsh (or expensive) cleaners means no fumes or residues to irritate lungs or muddy delicate finishes, while the use of hot steam rather than buckets of water leaves floors dry in just seconds. Heated and ready to use in 30 seconds, the remarkably quiet mechanism works something like an iron: steam is dispensed on demand, rather than continuously, by pressing the trigger while passing the mop over the floor. Hot steam easily removes hardened and sticky gunk, especially if the mop sits over the mess for a few seconds. (Leave it in place 15 seconds to actually sanitize the cleaning surface.) The machine steams for approximately 15 minutes before the tank needs to be refilled, but there's no lag once you refill it. The Steam Mop's low-profile 360-degree swiveling head accesses hard-to-reach nooks and crannies, like under kitchen cabinets, while its compact profile stores easily in small spaces. Other thoughtful design touches include a quick-release cord wrap and easy-carry handle, as well as a built-in water filter to protect from the minerals and impurities in hard water. (An indicator lets users know when the filter need to be replaced.) Durable, reusable microfiber pads are safe on all sealed hard surfaces and clean up nicely in the washing machine, making them more environmentally friendly than disposable options. Measuring 6 by 11 by 45-1/2 inches, the Bissell Steam Mop weighs less than 7 pounds and is covered by a one-year limited warranty.--Mary Park

Steaming's a breeze September 6, 2008 This is my second Bissell steam mop. The first one lasted about five years and gave out from constant use. That's great for a product this day and age. I rely on my Bissell steam mop to not only clean but disinfect my tile floors in the kitchen and bathroom without chemical use.

simple to use, seems to do a good job, leaves some water on the floor but not too bad
Pleasantly Surprised September 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking at Swiffers when I read a review directing me to this product. I decided to check it out and even though it was more expensive, I figured it would be a better investment in the long run.
I got this in the mail very quickly. I noticed the terror in my husband's eyes when the somewhat large box was waiting for us. I opened it up, saw that there were only two screws in the box and sent him off to watch tv. The assembly was super easy and fast (if I can do it, anyone can).
Then I put this to work on my kitchen floor. We have a large Doberman that manages to track in every bit of dirt she can find. She also makes a pond out of the floor area next to her food and water dishes. I ran this (only having to stop and really steam a few trouble spots) and the floor looks great. I was surprised at how well the steam removed dried on dirt and gunk.
I then pulled the cloth off and threw it in the dirty laundry basket. Simple and effective. I went a little bit slower than I would have with a Swiffer just because I wanted the steam to really work but I am not sure that made a huge difference. Overall, I am happy. I am going to do some reading on the filter life and perhaps order a few extra cloths but that's about it.
Great Item August 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This thing is great. It cleans the floors even the stubborn gunk that I use to have to use a butter knife to scrap off. It heats up quick and the steam power does the trick. It uses very little water to clean the whole house. The majority of my house is ceramic tile and laminate flooring. The only negative that I have come up with after 2 months of use is the cord is too short. It's long enough for any one room, but if you go from room to room like you would with a vacuum you have to unplug and find a closer outlet.

This is a very good product for steam cleaning relatively clean to begin with wood floors. You must vacume the floors very well before use and I would suggest weekly steam cleanings. This product would not be good for heavily soiled wood floors or wood floors without a good sealant. I like it very much though as compared to to using an old fashioned bucket and mop. This machine limits the amount of liquid hitting the floor by using steam and the steam is naturally hot so you know it is disinfecting. I rate it 4/5 only because it is best for minimally soiled wood floors that are vacumed frequently for dust/dirt. I. Zinser Midcoast, Maine
